Want to Help?  Here's How!

Everyone knows that the key to being a Scouts BSA Scout is to Be Prepared.  But it’s hard to be prepared for a hike without hiking boots, for a camp-out without a tent, or for a troop meeting without a uniform.  Whereas an established troop is already well-equipped, our new troop has to procure our troop equipment from scratch.

 

Although scouting is not prohibitively expensive, female Scouts BSA troops like ours are new and our official registration date was February 1st, 2019.  Consequently, we did not have the opportunity to fundraise during the fall, Scouts BSA's major fundraising season, and rely on donations from our community to help our troop get started.  Although our troop asks parents to pay for some of the scouting journey we also don't want it to be a financial burden.  Also, our troop has costs that are not passed on, such as camping equipment and various other equipment and supplies.

Donate Stuff

If you are interested in donating new or used equipment and supplies we would be more than happy to accept it!  Used equipment and supplies should be in good usable condition as our scouts will be using them.  Currently this is what our Scouts are in need of:

Troop Equipment

  • Reams of paper

  • Printer ink

  • Scout Handbooks (any edition)

  • Patrol Flags

  • Patrol flag stands

  • Medium first-aid kits (5 person)

Donate Your Time

We have many ways for adults to help as volunteers!  Whether you have little time to devote to Troop 1176 or have an open schedule we have volunteer opportunities for you!  Parents, grandparents, adults who used to be Scouts or anyone else in the community are encouraged to become volunteers.  Take a look at "Our Leaders" section for adult volunteer opportunities that we're currently looking to fill.
